what a fantastic dry-run test event on 20th of july 2024 at prater / arenawiese ... first and foremost this event was purely intended for testing the soundsystem and how it behaves running just on akku power ... and I can tell you - amazing shit 🤘💚🦩 ... the eon one MK2 rah roughly 3,5 hours on one Akku pack (have a second pair at hand to change) so we have a capacity of up to 7 hours of sound !! plain awesome I would say .... and also the bluetti powerstation performed very well ... remaining at around 30% powering our mixer and two 1210 turntables continuously without any glitches (except one time where I tried to check the power status where it did shutdown the power 😂😂😂)

so ... let's kiss the the good old fuel powered generator goodbye 👋 🫂🕺

but give me also some moment to reflect and look back and just be thankful for everyone who participated during the last 25 years in doing what we all live and love - spinning finest vinyl and emitting good sound and vibes … special special kudos to klaus who founded emissionen which was the “carrier” for the Picknicks for the last 20 years 🧡🧡🧡 and for showing up with a wagerl full of ice and beer yesterday 🍻🍻🍻

… but despite all sentiment - second test - the new "howler" recording and livestreaming device unfortunately failed due to stupidity by me and myself 🤭🥳😂 .. did a streaming test the day before in my flat and just forgot to switch it back to recording mode ... which caused it to NOT record our (soooo beautiful) mix during the event BUT instead livestream it to more or less #devnull (nowhere) ... such a pity ... but that's the nature of an experiment - it can fail - and one should learn about it 🕺

so back to the event itself ... weather was "interesting" ... cloudy all the time with some sparks of light rain in between ... but overall very comfy in a sense of temperature (compared to 35 degree and sun burning down) ... so really fine conditions ... especially for a non-marketed event ... but still some random people popped up and stayed and were pleased by our setup ... and the most important aspect - our crew really enjoyed meeting each other again and spinning our finest selections of vinyl crossing so many different genres ... soooo many thaaaanx to all you guys&girls showing up today ... such a gooood and positive energy centered around our attitude of love and respect 💚💚💚

… and not to forget to mention also overall logistics turned out to be much easier than in the years before ... main reason is the fact that everything equipment-wise is now coming from one hand 🤘 ... no more driving around collecting pieces of soundsystem from various parties ... such a relief 🤸🤪 ... and special "kudos" also to my new "wagerl" which also did a fantastic job moving all the pieces around ... and last but not least never forget to mention good old "Hamburg" ... 💚💚💚
